C276 is suitable for a variety of chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high content of molybdenum and chromium makes the alloy resistant to chloride ions, and tungsten further improves its corrosion resistance. C276 is one of the only materials capable of resisting moisture, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions. The alloy is resistant to high concentrations of salt chloride solutions (such as ferric chloride and copper chloride).
